Rio Safari Animal Conservation Park
An animal park and European conservation center that hosts 500 animals from all over the world in a natural environment with over 3,000 palm trees. The visit includes a guided tour on a pneumatic train and a sea lion show.
Rio Safari is a CITES Rescue Center, authorized to house, maintain, and care for specimens seized or confiscated by the competent authorities. It also collaborates in the collection of invasive exotic species, the rescue of abandoned/injured domestic animals, and potentially dangerous animals.
Additionally, it works in European Endangered Species Breeding Programs, commonly known by the acronym EEP (European Endangered Species Programme), whose mission is to achieve the reproduction of certain species in captivity to maintain stable populations.
Currently, the park is part of the following programs:
Pygmy Hippopotamus EEP (Hexaprotodon liberiensis)
Black Mangabey EEP (Lophocebus aterrimus)
Angolan Giraffe EEP (Giraffa camelopardalis angolensis)
Bornean Orangutan EEP (Pongo pygmaeus)
In the park, you can find a variety of restaurants offering menus or various foods, pizzerias, sandwich shops, ice cream parlors, and additional leisure options such as inflatable castles, a go-kart track, and a water park.
Opening hours: 10:00 AM (year-round)
Closing hours: 6:00 PM Monday to Friday (7:00 PM Saturday and Sunday)
July and August closing: 8:00 PM
Children must enter accompanied by an adult. Child pricing applies from ages 3 to 12. Children under 3 years old enter for free.
Pets are allowed but cannot enter animal exhibitions and must always be kept on a leash.
